Cleanroom Anti Static Coverall for pharmaceutical factory

News / 2026.10.16

The clean production areas of pharmaceutical factories must strictly control contamination risks caused by microorganisms, particles and static electricity to ensure pharmaceutical production complies with GMP specifications. Cleanroom anti static coverall serves as basic protective equipment for personnel entering pharmaceutical clean workshops. A complete and standardized usage procedure can maximize the garment’s dust control and anti-static protection capacity and reduce human-borne contaminants entering production areas.

The whole operation process consists of five stages: gowning preparation, donning inspection, workshop operation, doffing and storage, cleaning and testing. All operations must be completed in designated gowning zones and follow the sequence from contaminated side to clean side.

Gowning preparation marks the starting stage. Before entering the gowning room, staff shall remove watches, necklaces, rings and other ornaments, remove cosmetics and nail polish, and arrange long hair properly. Then take off daily outer garments in the outer gowning room and store them in dedicated lockers, change into clean inner shoes, wash and disinfect hands and wait for hands to dry naturally. When fetching the cleanroom anti static coverall, only the inner side of the garment can be grasped to avoid touching the outer surface and prevent pre-contamination by dust and impurities. Meanwhile, inspect the garment appearance and check for fabric damage, broken conductive filaments, stains and other defects. Garments with defects are prohibited from use.

The donning stage must follow a standardized sequence. Insert both legs into trouser legs one after another, then put arms into sleeves, smooth the garment body, zip up and close the outer dust shield. Ensure the hood fully covers all hair and beard without exposed hair. Elastic cuffs on collars, sleeves and trouser legs fit closely against skin to block skin flakes and hair from falling out. After donning the coverall, put on clean masks, goggles, clean gloves and boot covers. The edges of gloves wrap around the cuffs of protective garments. Once fully dressed, staff perform self-inspection to confirm no exposed gaps. Peer inspection serves as re-verification to confirm full protection before entering the buffer zone and finally the pharmaceutical clean production workshop. During the whole donning process, the outer surface of the coverall must not touch the ground, walls or other non-clean objects to avoid premature contamination.

During workshop operation, the protective condition needs to be maintained. While working in the clean zone, minimize large body movements to prevent violent shaking of garments from raising particles. Do not pull or rub the coverall arbitrarily. Operators should watch the garment condition. Once fabric damage or cracking appears, stop work immediately and exit the clean area in order to replace the garment. Anti-static protection relies on conductive fibers inside the fabric to continuously dissipate static charges generated by human bodies. Proper donning ensures stable protection performance and prevents static electricity from affecting pharmaceutical raw materials or packaging materials. Coveralls used in areas of different cleanliness grades cannot be mixed to avoid cross-area contamination.

The doffing procedure after production follows the reverse order of donning and is carried out in the clean-side buffer doffing room. First remove outer gloves, goggles and masks, then unzip the coverall and roll it inward from top to bottom. Wrap the contaminated outer surface inside to prevent particles attached on the surface from spreading. The removed cleanroom anti static coverall shall be placed into a special sealed storage bag instead of being stacked randomly or placed directly on the floor. After doffing the coverall, take off boot covers and inner gloves in sequence, wash and disinfect hands before leaving the gowning room.

Cleaning, inspection and distribution form the final stage for reusable cycles. Collected coveralls are sent to professional clean laundry service providers for graded cleaning and disinfection. Garments for different clean zones are processed separately to avoid cross-contamination. After cleaning, indicators such as fabric surface resistance and particle generation are tested. Only garments with qualified indicators can be sealed, sterilized and stored in warehouse. Check validity periods and test records again before each collection. Complete usage logs are established to realize full-process traceability.

To sum up, using cleanroom anti static coverall in pharmaceutical factories focuses on establishing standardized gowning, application, doffing and maintenance procedures. Standardized operating procedures reduce risks of particulate, microbial and static contamination and meet GMP control requirements for pharmaceutical workshops. Enterprises should carry out regular staff training to strengthen procedure implementation awareness, continuously maintain stable clean production environment and lower contamination hazards in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
