Painting Solvent Resistant FR Coverall

News / 2026.10.21

The manufacturing workflow of a Painting Solvent Resistant FR Coverall is tailored for spray booth environments. Fabric lamination, pattern cutting, seam sealing, trim fitting, finishing and final inspection are tightly connected. Minor deviations in process parameters can degrade barrier, flame and anti-static performance, threatening worker safety and paint finish quality. The production prioritizes controlled temperature, pressure and speed at every stage to balance solvent resistance, stable flame retardancy, low linting and static dissipation.

Fabric lamination forms the foundational stage. Inherently flame-resistant base cloth is pre-washed to remove weaving size and contaminants and improve coating adhesion. Dry lamination bonds the solvent barrier film, flame-retardant functional layer and conductive anti-static layer in a clean workshop. Calender temperature and pressure are calibrated carefully to avoid thermal decomposition of flame retardants or blockage of breathable micro-pores. A low-surface-energy finish is applied to repel paint mist while preserving moisture vapour transmission. Laminated fabric is conditioned to allow adhesive crosslinking, then sampled for permeation, vertical flame and surface resistance checks before release.

Pattern grading and cutting build ergonomic allowance for painting movements. Digital patterns set gussets at underarm and crotch for reaching and twisting. Cutting takes place in a low-dust zone with CNC cutters to produce clean edges and minimize loose fibres. Cut panels for one single garment are taken from the same fabric roll to avoid lot-to-lot variation, with batch marking for traceability.

Sewing and tape sealing define protective integrity. Stitched seams create capillary pathways, so the process follows a two-stage sequence: stitch first, then seal. Only flame and solvent resistant thread is used, with consistent stitch density; overly dense stitching damages the fabric while loose stitching leaves gaps. Seams are then overlaid with compatible barrier tape by heat sealing machines. Temperature, feed speed and roller pressure are tuned to fully cover needle holes without blisters or edge lifting. Storm flaps and hood joints receive double-tape reinforcement, followed by controlled cooling to secure adhesion.

Trimming and assembly match all auxiliary components to the fabric specification. Zippers, hook-and-loop, elastic and markings are pre-tested for solvent and flame resistance. A double storm flap covers the front zipper. Integrated binding is used on hood, wrist and ankle seals. Protruding details and pockets are minimized to reduce paint buildup. Operators avoid sharp tools that could puncture the barrier membrane.

Finishing stabilizes surface properties. Gentle dedusting removes loose fibres that would spoil wet paintwork, followed by low-temperature setting to lock the shape without damaging the barrier or flame retardant system. Residual softeners are excluded to prevent volatile contamination in paint booths.

Final inspection and batch testing close the quality loop. Every garment undergoes visual inspection for tape defects, uncovered pinholes and scratches. Representative samples are submitted to solvent permeation, flash fire and static decay tests. Selected lots undergo durability cycling to assess performance loss. Approved suits are folded and hermetically packed to shield stock from ambient solvents and dust.

The whole process balances competing requirements. Lamination establishes core protective performance, heat sealing eliminates seam weaknesses, and low-lint cutting and finishing meet cleanliness standards for painting operations.
